Misconception: The Prayer of Jabez?

THINK: About the message of the Bible, and ask what God actually promises us through Jesus Christ. To challenge the very thought and teachings of some who say God promises us health, wealth, and prosperity in this life through examining example of the Prayer of Jabez. Seeing this is not prescriptive to our lives of prayer, and health, wealth, and prosperity now wasn’t part of God’s plan.

KNOW: Although God doesn’t promise us health, wealth, and prosperity in this life. He does promise to always provide for our needs not our greeds. God will always provide us the daily bread as He has shown us to provide this daily bread throughout His Word and human history. God does provide. However, God is not a get rich quick scheme.

FEEL: The need to reject and turn away from the false teachers of this world who will teach Godliness is a means of personal physical gain in this life.

DO: Be bold in our faith in Jesus and trust in Him for their daily needs not our greeds. To proclaim the truth when faced with falsehood. To be willing to confront our brothers and sisters and show them the truth when they find them falling into the traps of the health, wealth, and prosperity gospels.
