Spiritual Disciplines ~ The Disciplined Life
Today’s sermon on “Living a Life of Discipline” is an introduction to our extended series we are beginning over the spiritual disciplines. It highlights the importance of spiritual practices rooted in ancient traditions of faith, emphasizing the role of the Holy Spirit in developing these disciplines. Drawing from Paul’s analogy of discipline in running a race. We will stress the need for believers to move beyond superficial faith to a deeper relationship with Jesus through intentional spiritual disciplines. The sermon warns against practicing discipline for personal glory and encourages genuine longing for Jesus, offering practical steps to cultivate these habits and grow in faith. Ultimately, it calls for believers to make Jesus the center of their lives and seek ongoing transformation through spiritual disciplines.
