Spiritual Disciplines ~ The Purpose of Study?
Today’s message is to continue our series on the spiritual discipline of study and discuss the purpose of studying God’s Word. Understanding, as we have already seen, the study of the Word of God is not merely an academic exercise but a transformative spiritual discipline aimed at shaping and changing our lives. Through the insight of the book of Hebrews, we will be encouraged to approach scripture to allow it to direct our lives and cultivate a deeper relationship with God. The ultimate goal of scripture study is to experience profound personal transformation, moving away from the world’s conformity and into the abundant life promised by Jesus. In conclusion, this message will urge us to take actionable steps in our study, including observation, application, and prayer, to fulfill the purpose of spiritual growth and transformation in our lives that the study of God’s Word intends to bring.
